Loan Cost and Duration All carriers are lent subject to availability, condition and suitability. The standard loan period is 1 month. Your hire will be due back to the session you hired it from. For this reason, the loan period may vary between 20- 31 days The cost of the hire is £15 standard across all of our carriers.
Renewals We have no limitations on the length of time you may hire for. You will receive an automated email 2 days before to remind you when your hire is due for renewal. However it is your responsibility to know when your carrier is due back and to return or renew in a prompt manner. Please pay to rehire BEFORE the date your carrier is due back.
Late Returns and Loan Extensions If we do not receive payment after 12pm on the day the sling is due back a late payment fee of £5 will be charged and the hire will be automatically extended for another month. An email for payment will be sent. It is the borrower’s responsibility to return the carrier in a timely manner. Please ensure if you are returning to a Library session that you bring the carrier back at the start of the session time. If this is not possible, please discuss this with us. Mumaroo will not personally chase returns. If returns reach three months unpaid then contact will be made by Mumaroo . Should contact not be returned with us within 7 days we will progress further via small claims. Mumaroo reserves the right to invoice the borrower for any additional charges that we feel appropriate; this will be itemised and will include full cost of replacement carrier and unpaid hire fees and charges. If this is not paid in full after 30 days it will be pursued by small claims. An administration charge of £50 will be added to any claim made through small claims courts.
Under adverse or unforeseen circumstances, we may reduce or waive fees for late returns as long as the late period is less than 7 days and has been agreed by us before the end of the loan period.
Deposits / loss / theft or damage of carrier: We no longer require a deposit upon hiring. Please be aware that loss or damage of the carrier must be reported to us immediately. We may ask you to replace the carrier in our library which will be charged at the specific carriers RRP. An invoice will be raised and payment required within 7 days. Failure to complete this payment may result in additional loss of hire charges being applied and a claim being raised through small claims court.
Payment Methods Loan costs are payable by cash, card, direct bank transfer or PayPal payment. Standing orders can be completed via your bank however it is your responsibility to ensure it is cancelled on time upon return of the carrier.
Returning and Posting Carriers Returns can be made during Library Open Sessions or by being dropping into Mumaroo HQ (we have a 24 hour drop box) but please do arrange this with us first to ensure there will be someone available to collect from you. Please contact us to discuss. We may also be able to collect the carrier from you, but will charge a small fuel fee for doing so. This will be deducted from your deposit. Please do not leave hires at one of our venues to collect or on our doorsteps as you are responsible for ensuring a safe return.
Condition of the Carrier All carriers are checked before lending to ensure that they are in good condition and working order. The borrower may check the condition of the carrier prior to the start of the loan and must confirm on the loan form that it is in working order. It is the borrowers responsibility to ensure they are happy with the condition of the carrier before leaving the premises. It is the borrower’s responsibility to check over the carrier before every use. Check all buckles, hems and seams ensuring that there are no tears, breaks, cracks or holes. If any damage is discovered, please stop using the carrier immediately and contact us.
Safe Use of Carriers ALL CARRIERS ARE EXTREMELY SAFE WHEN USED PROPERLY, HOWEVER MISUSE CAN CAUSE INJURY TO YOURSELF OR YOUR CHILD. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT YOU ARE USING THE CARRIER CORRECTLY AND THAT YOUR BABY OR CHILD IS SAFE AT ALL TIMES WHEN USING THE CARRIER. Mumaroo and The North Lincolnshire Sling Library cannot be held responsible for any accident that results in injury or death whilst the carrier is in your care. We will always make sure you feel confident to use your carrier and have practiced using our demo doll and preferably your child before leaving a sling library session. We do not issue instruction booklets as a general rule. If you would like one please ask, we will either give you the booklet or send you a pdf form via email. The borrower must read all safety, use and care instructions provided prior to using the carrier. Carriers must only be used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, though where there is a choice we may recommend particular carrying methods or positions. We suggest that after you practice using the carrier with a doll/teddy or cushion/pillow so that you get used to the tying/fastening/adjusting methods. Always ensure that you seat your child correctly in the carrier and check any knots regularly as children do not stay still and straps and wrap passes can move or become loosened. If you feel any pain while using the carrier, change the carrying position or remove the carrier and contact us for advice. If you are unsure about anything you read in the instructions please ask us.
Care of Carriers Under no circumstances is smoking permitted whilst wearing or holding the carrier. Please inform us if you are a smoker, or if there is a smoker in your home as we will need to carefully launder the carrier after it is returned.
We cannot guarantee that there are no marks or hairs on the carriers we lend. Carriers are laundered between hires.
Please DO NOT wash the carrier; though do spot clean any marks when they occur using warm water. If you feel it is necessary that the carrier is cleaned while on loan to you, please contact us first for advice.
We cannot guarantee that there are no animal hairs on our carriers, but we ask that all carriers are kept away from pets to minimise this possibility. If you are very allergic to animal hairs, please request that the carrier be laundered before you borrow it to help reduce any potential reaction. Food marks are expected when carrying children, but please keep the sling away from anything that may stain more permanently (oil, paint, pens, etc.), or anything that might damage it (scissors, Velcro, keys in your bag, fire, etc.). The cost of damage beyond normal wear and tear may be requested
Please report lost, stolen or damaged slings to us IMMEDIATELY.
All slings, carriers, instructions and accessories remain the property of Korrin Savage and/or Mumaroo: North Lincolnshire Sling Library at all times, and all loans are subject to availability and our discretion. Please do not lend your carriers to friends and family.
